As the low-end master for seminal band U2, Adam Clayton has been using Fender basses for decades. In partnership with Fender, Adam has co-designed a signature bass that brings his custom specs to the bass-playing public. The Adam Clayton Precision Bass features a custom maple "C" shaped neck profile designed by Clayton for a smooth feel and instant playability. A solid alder body on the Adam Clayton PBass also gives this instrument impeccable tone for live performance, while a single Custom Shop 60's Single-Coil pickup is featured, delivering clean, low, fat tone when amplified.




Amazing neck for playability
Talk shop with any bass player — or guitar player — and the conversation invariably turns to the neck. It is the central feature on any bass that lets a player know and feel instantly whether or not a bass is going to make it for the long run. To make sure you feel an instant connection, Fender has incorporated a great-feeling polyurethane finish on the custom Adam Clayton "C"-shaped neck. The back of the neck has a slick-playing satin finish that feels worn in and ready to go. The headstock has a tinted gloss finish that matches the body, and the maple fretboard has been buffed to perfection. Once you feel the finish on this neck, you won't be able to go back to anything else.




Big bass tone from Fender Custom Shop pickups
The Fender Adam Clayton PBass features a single Fender Custom Shop pickup for solid, low-end thump and drive — the same kind of thump and drive you hear on classic U2 songs. This single-coil monster can growl, grind, or soar with clarity — it's all up to you. Clayton and Fender have also added gorgeous appointments like chrome-plated zinc saddles at the bridge and vintage black plastic control knobs along with Hipshot Vintage-Style “Lollipop” tuners.
