To give the PRS Grainger 5-string Bass a rich yet balanced sound, PRS began by choosing the tried-and-true combination of mahogany topped with a gorgeous figured maple top. One of our hands-down favorite tonewood cocktails here at Sweetwater, the mahogany/maple combo delivers a beautifully balanced sound. The mahogany body gives you natural tonal warmth, which is offset perfectly by the brighter tone of its maple top.




Active electronics provide the power and tone you need
Whatever the gig, the PRS Grainger 5-string bass is ready for action. Two custom GG pickups deliver extraordinary punch and clarity, with a low B string that rings out solid and true. The built-in 3-band EQ lets you effortlessly dial in your signature sound, while the 18-volt active electronics provide massive headroom for when you're slapping forcefully or digging in deep. Each pickup has a push-pull pot that controls volume and also functions as an active/passive switch. You're ready for any gig with the PRS Grainger 5-string.
