Gibson Acoustic has a long history of pioneering small-body acoustic guitar designs. In the spirit of their innovation, The 2017 HP 665 SB is the next evolution of what a small-body cutaway instrument should sound like. Never before has a slim, small-body, with a cutaway offered such a giant sound, excellent playability, and distinctive styling all in one package. The Gibson team researched and prototyped many variations to maximize the performance and comfort of this small-body rosewood cutaway.

Ultimately, the 2017 HP 665 SB was built for performance. Starting with its Advanced Response neck profile, which was designed and engineered in Bozeman, Montana, great efforts were made in sculpting a neck that would unleash your full ability. It allows you to be completely free and creative, fundamentally changing the interaction and relationship between an artist and their instrument. Next, the rosewood back and sides were slightly slimmed down to offer up a vibrant sound in the midrange that perfectly combines with finely balanced bass and highs.
Acclaimed as one of the most comfortable body shapes and sizes, the HP 665 SB will have you playing longer with less fatigue. The newly design neck is outfitted with a dense Richlite fingerboard and bridge which creates a sublime playing surface suitable for any playing style and technique. This world-class acoustic is suitable for home, studio, live stage or a professional level performance.

The 2017 HP 665 SB is finished with elegant Gibson appointments, including a gold block Gibson decal on the headstock, classic mini gold Grover tuners, superior Tusq nut and saddle, Richlite bridge and fingerboard, and mother-of-pearl dot position markers. An upgraded L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system delivers the true tonal character of your guitar. Designed and handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana.
