The ’59 Sound is named after perhaps the most famous ’59 sound of all—THE ’59 sound, otherwise known as the ’59 Fender Bassman. It’s the sound that defined early rock ‘n’ roll and now it can exist on your pedalboard.
Based on the Box of Rock platform, the ’59 Sound is based on the Box of Rock in the same way that the JTM45 (the amp modeled by the BoR) is based on the ’59 Bassman. The ’59 Sound will give you all the air-pushing grunt of an original Bassman, with an extra footswitchable boost.
The main side gives you Volume, Tone and Drive, all expertly voiced, while the Boost side gives you an extra gigantic push. Thankfully, the Boost side can be used independently of the main side, for those times when you want just a little extra.
Like all Z. Vex pedals, the ’59 Sound stacks exceptionally well with pretty much anything placed before or after it, and at any knob position. Use it to strangle your amp or get a handle on your current dirt section—it’s all there.
