Fuzz lovers by now have heard the tale of the IC-based Big Muff, the curious time in history when Mike Matthews and company strayed from the path and built a Muff variant that contained no transistors. It was built for only a short while before Muff enthusiasts shunned it, causing it to be deeply discounted, then sold to alternative rock pioneers for pennies on the dollar.
Wren and Cuff first built the Eye See Pi in a larger enclosure, the same one used by the Box of War. While it looked great, it isn't the post practically-sized pedal out there. Now, the same sound exists in a smaller form-factor for you space-starved players out there.
Yes, this is the Siamese Dream sound. It has plenty of mids and an extremely unique fuzz character, given off not only by its monolithic components but also by a highly-refined clipping section that wrings maximum fuzz from the circuit.
But that's not all: Like the original IC Muff, the Eye See Pi gives you a toggle switch for disengaging the Tone knob. The Tone control has always been the Muff's weak point, and bypassing it completely gives you a punishing mid-boosted sound that pretty much sounds like Seattle in the '90s. It's raw, open and stacks extremely well with the rest of your dirt pedals.
