Dialing in sweet-sounding high end has never been easier
Unlike typical equalizers, the Clariphonic MS features a purpose-built set of front-panel controls. Rather than confusing you with a bunch of complicated parameters, this easy-to-use equalizer gives you two main controls per channel (Focus and Clarity), plus toggles for both controls that further define the Clariphonic MS's character. Under the surface, there's a lot more going on. The Clariphonic MS splits each signal into six parallel parts. Think of these sections as six channels in an old-school analog mixing console. Four of these paths lead through the two Focus engines and the two Clarity engines, while the remaining two paths are unaffected. Both the Focus and the Clarity engines treat high and low frequencies independently and then sum them before their independent gain controls.




Blend the affected signal with your original sound
This boost-only architecture allows you to adjust both the balance within the signal path and the level of the signal path's output in the summed mix. Independent of either the Focus or the Clarity path, the two Full Frequency paths run straight to the mix bus and are unaffected by the rest of the Clariphonic MS's circuitry. This gives you the option of blending in the original sound with the affected signal — more or less like a wet/dry mix.
