This Grand Symphony 12-string sings like no other guitar in Taylor's sublime Presentation Series. Sets of beautifully variegated Macassar ebony are paired with premium Sitka spruce tops to produce a voice with sweeping acoustic range, while the octave strings elevate an already rich and resonant voice to another level. A hand-carved ebony armrest blends high-end craftsmanship with the ultimate in strumming comfort. Premium appointments include colorful paua edging, a Macassar ebony backstrap, and an elaborate Nouveau vine fretboard inlay complemented by elegant headstock torch and bridge inlays. The guitar also features Gotoh Gold tuners, a bone nut and saddle, a Venetian cutaway, and Taylor Expression System 2 electronics.|
Grand SymphonyWith a slightly larger footprint than the Grand Auditorium, the GS yields a slightly more potent and dynamic all-around sound. Players can expect deeper bass, thicker trebles, and increased volume and low-end sustain, all without disrupting the tonal balance and clarity of the guitar.Sitka SpruceThe most commonly used wood for guitar tops, Sitka generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking.Macassar EbonyThis dense hardwood is typically clear and loud with considerable overtones and dynamic range. It has a strong bass and lower mids, clear highs, and a slightly scooped midrange like rosewood. Like koa, it often takes a little while for the tone to open up and become richer.Expression System 2Taylor’s breakthrough acoustic pickup marks a major advance in piezo technology thanks to a patented behind-the-saddle design. The unique placement of three piezo sensors captures a more dynamic range of acoustic sound and responds well in a variety of settings.
