The Les Paul Fort Knox solidbody electric guitar has a bold and gleaming look. Covered from headstock to lower strap pin in Gibson's Bullion Gold finish, this guitar proudly displays why it is known as the Fort Knox. Gold plating dresses every piece of hardware. Even the truss rod cover, pickup rings, and special-alloy gold frets play into the guitar's high-class persona. Gold-plated pickguard and more
Gibson didn't stop at the gold plating and finish. You'll also receive two very different pickguards to choose how you want your Les Paul Fort Knox to look. A black pickguard is removable and can be used whenever you are performing to protect the guitar's finish. A gold-plated pickguard really puts the look of the guitar over the top and can be permanently installed via the typical LP screw-mount method. Or you can keep them both in the case and enjoy the pickguard-free appearance that many Les Paul lovers swear by.
A Les Paul Custom at heart
The Les Paul Fort Knox shares a lot of design and construction elements with the ever-popular Les Paul Custom. The iconic mahogany and maple construction is there for a Les Paul's unmistakable growl and sustain. And a duo of '59 Tribute humbucking pickups imbue the Fort Knox with the clear tones of true PAF humbuckers. Mother-of-pearl inlays are expertly set into the dark and smooth richlite fretboard and headstock, just like a Custom. And multi-ply binding envelops the whole instrument to complete the seductively lined Custom image.
