The Bearfoot FX Model Hs is Bearfoot’s nod to the classic Hiwatt tones heard in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s on [insert your favorite British rock album from that era]. The S in “Hs” stands for Sparkle, and believe us, it’s more than capable of living up to that moniker.
Missing from the Hs is the Tone knob, and in its place is a Body control and a Mode “knob.” The Boby control is a Tone in disguise, but it’s a different sort. It remains musical throughout the entire turn, rather than one or two sweet spots. It adds a little sparkle as the control is increased, for an organic-feeling tone and a fluid sweep.
The Mode control is actually a two-position rotary switch that imparts a glassy chime to the tone in position two. See, Sparkle! The second position also interacts extremely well with the Body control for many tonal possibilities, all of which are unmistakably Hiwatt, from the low-watt combos to the monstrous stage slayers of yore.
