Fender Custom Shop Lineage Black Stratocaster Pickups '60s
Some time ago, we collaborated with Fender on a series of guitars: the Total Tone Series. Each of these guitars was outfitted with a set of pickups that were custom wound for us. While these guitars were fantastic instruments unto themselves, the pickups were easily the star of the show. There are two sets of pickups: Lineage Red and Lineage Black, each wound to the specs of different decades. The Red pickups are ‘50s spec, while the Black are ‘60s spec. We found a stock of each on the shelf and are happy to offer them.
The Lineage Black pickups feature a reverse-wound and reverse-polarity middle pickup for low noise, and feature staggered Alnico V magnets wrapped in 42-gauge enameled wire with cloth-wrapped leads. This pickup set has a bridge pickup that is slightly higher-output than the neck and middle pickups. These Lineage Black pickups lend any guitar in which they’re installed a flatter EQ response. These pickups are lower-output than the Lineage Red for awesome tone-enhancing sparkle, chime, detail and clarity.
These pickups are great for upgrading a more inexpensive axe with primo custom shop tone, or for the gig-ready musician who wants to leave his or her expensive custom shop instrument at home when they hit the road.
